Today on Josh’s Big Box O CDs we played Sister Havana from Urge Overkill. They might best be described as a two-hit wonder. This song did OK for them, and then they did a Neil Diamond cover - Girl, You’ll Be a Woman Soon - for the Quentin Tarantino film Pulp Fiction. and here’s the video for you:

My friends and I would always notice that hot girls seemed to consistently end up with douchey guys. This one is from the quintessential 90s indie band Pavement. I played Range Life from the 1994 album Crooked, Crooked Rain: L.A’s Desert Origins. The song I played features namechecks to Smashing Pumpkins and Stone Temple Pilots and is called Range Life. Stephen Malkmus, the main man behind Pavement still does some solo work.
